How we check
Every status on Freeline is a fact we measured. Here is exactly what we do, and what we never do.

A listing check
We fetch the provider's public list and confirm the model is there at $0. It is quick, and it runs for every route we have a list for.

A live call check
We actually call the model with a short message, and it must answer before we count it as working.

A failed check never changes a status on its own
If a check fails or errors, the status stays as it was. A person on our daily watch confirms a death before it is marked dead.

Checks run every 3 hours
Each model page shows when its checks ran and which of them passed. Ideas, guesses and old articles never change a status.
We do not show uptime we did not measure.
Right now 9 of 10 models are checked by listing and 1 by live call. A model we cannot check either way is marked as checked by hand until our probe covers it.
